Trinitarian Spirituality
As a member of the Order of the Most Holy Trinity and of the Captives, Joey is part of a religious order founded in 1198 by St. John de Matha and St. Felix of Valois in France. The order's founding came from two mystical experiences. During his first Mass in 1193, John saw a vision of Christ holding two chained captives, one a Moor and one a Christian, the Christian carrying a staff with a red and blue cross. Later, while walking with Felix in the forest, John saw a white stag appear at a stream with the same red and blue cross between its antlers. These visions set the course for the order's mission.
The order's original mission was the redemption of Christian captives held in North Africa. Over eight centuries, that charism of mercy and redemption has expanded to include education, parish ministry, and missions. Today, Trinitarians remain committed to works of mercy worldwide, with a special focus on those persecuted and discriminated against because of their religious faith, fidelity to conscience, or adherence to the values of the Gospel.
As a third order (lay) Trinitarian, Joey carries this charism into the digital world, and it is this spirit of service and redemption that shapes his work.

Socii Cybernetici
Socii Cybernetici is a guild within the Catholic Diocese of Discord. It brings together Catholic developers, engineers, and technologists who believe that building good software is a form of stewardship, and that the disciplines of code and the disciplines of faith are not at odds but mutually enriching.
The guild's name means Allies of the Cybernetic. It is open to all Catholics in CDD who work in technology.
The Trinitarian charism of service and redemption finds a natural expression in technology work. The order's mission has evolved from ransoming physical captives to serving those whose dignity is threatened in the modern world. For lay Trinitarians like Joey, this charism is lived out through his vocation as a technologist, building tools that serve the Church and the common good. Socii Cybernetici provides a community of Catholic developers who share this same spirit of service through code.
